Fort Ticonderoga is a reconstructed fort originally built by the French and named Fort Carillon. The French fought the English, The Indians fought the
French, And the Americans fought the English during the American Revolution. Re-enactments of the French and Indian War and The American Revolutionary
War take place at the fort.
The Adirondack Mountains of New York are a haven for indoor and
outdoor recreation of all kinds. Canoe, kayak, swim, whitewater rafting, and fish in the 3,000 ponds and lakes and 1,500 miles of rivers. Hike the
nation's largest hiking trail system. Hunting and horseback riding are also available. Winter is spectacular with skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing,
skating, bobsledding, and snowboarding.
The Adirondacks are home to black bears, white tailed deer, common loons, mergansers, bald eagles, beavers, coyotes, fishers, bobcats, brook and
ake trout, land-locked salmon and more. Great for bird watching.
Visit Olympic venues like the Verizon Sports Park in Lake Placid, where freestyle skiers perform amazing aerial acrobatics 60 feet high over an
Olympic size pool. Or take a hot air balloon ride with views of the Adirondack Mountains.
